The door bottom is 1/2" tall, so somewhere a bit less then that height would be good, so that it can seal. It's a advisable that you have the door bottom on hand before you trim your door.
How big a gap should be left between a wooden door and the top of threshold so that this door bottom works right? Pemko 36" (914mm) Door Bottom w/Vinyl Insert - EACH (Dark Bronze Anodized Aluminum)
