I don't know if you want to keep the metal base or not but most glass knobs are affixed to the metal base with epoxy which can be removed with acetone or nail polish remover yet I don't know if it would penetrate in to the metal base sufficiently. We do have a FSW-1140 in either satin nickel or brass that is less expensive if this is something you would like to try.
