This Emtek door knob is sold in 3 different functions: Passage, which is a functioning knob with no lock, typically used for utility rooms or closets; Dummy, which is a non-functioning knob, typically used for double doors in combination with another functioning knob; and Privacy, which is a functioning knob with a lock which is engaged with a pin on the rosette, next to the knob, that you push on the inside, and an emergency release on the outside that is usually engaged by a pin (like an unfolded paperclip), typically used for bathrooms and bedrooms.
