You will have about 3" of overlap from the height of the door versus the cabinet but the door will be about 8-1/2" forward. So if you had something 18" tall you could move it potentially angling it as you moved it out into that 8-1/2" space. Or you can go with a lateral opening door and you will have almost full access to the cabinet.
