To change the code you need the programming code that's on the back of the keypad. It's on a yellow label that's affixed to the back of the lock (where it mounts to the door). You enter the 6 digit code and then wait for the SCHLAGE button to emit 3 orange lights and 3 beeps. You then press the SCHLAGE button until the keypad turns blue. Press 1 and again wait for the 3 orange lights and 3 beeps. Enter 4 digit new user code and once again wait for the 3 lights and 3 beeps. Enter same new user code and the SCHLAGE button will emit 1 green light and a long beep. Success!
