It's not the greatest of pictures, but basically the grey cylinder is an anchor, the brass part is a bushing, the screw is a wood screw, and the dot all by it's self is a set screw. The bushing screws on to the screw before the screw goes in to the wall. The towel bar slides over the bushing and is secured by the set screw.
