You can get a deadbolt that will accept a 1-1/2" bore but not a regular knob or lever lock. There is a solution however with little prep. Here's an excellent internet post detailing this process.
What is the face bore hole dimension? Dexter Stratus Door Knobset (Passage - Aged Bronze - Adjustable Backset)
Trying to replace an old brass handle with DEXTER on the face plate. Bore hole is 1 1/2" which makes replacing the handle harder since most holes are larger.
