Based on the product specifications, I see no reason why the Deltana Solid Brass Moritse Bolt wouldn't function effectively on either an inswing or outswing door. However, keep in mind that it's designed for doors with a thickness of 1-3/4in.(45mm) or more, although it can be adjusted for 1-3/8in.(35mm) doors by trimming the spindle.
