Frame extenders can be added to an existing frame, however removing the frame is required. Once the frame is removed, you slide on the frame extender until it clicks into place.

The Kessebohmer Dispensa Pantry Pullout Frame Extender can be installed by taking off the top rail off and install the extenders and then put the top rail back on.
