Can this be used as an upper cane bolt. Meaning can I use this for a passage door and lock the top.

I want to use this on a passage door to hold it closed at the top instead of the bottom. Will it just fall down by gravity? Is the stopping system reversable?

Yes, technically the Abbey Gatepro 24" (610mm) Garage Door Bolt can be used for a top mounted application. It is gravity held, so there are no springs to create tension, but the prongs should keep it from coming loose unintentionally. Please just be mindful of spacing.
