What is the height of the assembled rack? And can the rack be adjusted to accommodate smaller plates (saucers etc)?

Without any trimming the height would be 13-1/16". If you need it shorter you can trim the dowels to whatever length you want them. You can also trim the top and bottom rails to be shorter if the space is smaller than 34-3/8" wide.
