When the privacy pin is engaged it pushes a cylinder on the back of the rosette that prevents the lever from turning. The privacy pin doesn't come in contact with the latchbolt at all.

How does this work for privacy? I received an order and it says for passage and privacy. I don't see where it can be privacy though for the little screw hole to make it privacy by locking.
