No, the Extend-A-Hand grab bar cannot be mounted vertically. The grab bar only locks in one position so if it was vertical it would not lock in the disengaged position.
Can this grab bar be hung vertically? Extend-A-Hand 32" (813mm) Folding Grab Bar (Stainless Steel)
I have a narrow space to put a grab bar but it is also recessed so you can not get your hand around a normal grab bar
