The dampeners ability to do it job is based off of torque and torque is measured by the door height times weight times .5.
Assuming your door height is 30" the max weight for the LADH-50 is 28 pounds, the max weight for the LADH-35 is 19 pounds.
In theory you can double up on the dampeners, this is untested by the vendor and therefore unsupported. When you do install the dampeners you will need need to make sure they are perfectly level with each other because if one dampener is doing most of the work the system will fail.
